43. The Power of Focusing on the Youth and Influencing Our Future with Maria Dismondy

Teaching children to be upstanders (instead of bystanders) who have hope and the courage to change bad things is the best way of influencing the future of our country. In this emotional and genuine conversation with Maria Dismondy, we discuss our reality without sugar coating it.

It is hard to be a kid in this world, and her publishing company - Cardinal Rule Press, knows the value in using children’s literature to teach about difficult topics. As a former teacher, Maria decided to write about children’s issues. Her modern books talk about diversity, humanity, and having the courage to be who you are without being ashamed of your culture.

She specifically loves to write about hot topics, so her books can be a doorway for real conversation within families. Besides being a successful author and speaker, Maria publishes books by other authors and educates parents about all the issues our children are facing in this world: suicide, depression, and pornography are just a few of them.

In this episode, we're talking about the power of conversations, not just in education, but in business as well. Maria selflessly shares some of the challenges she's faced along the way of becoming a women entrepreneur and why purchasing a new company while having issues with hers was a huge leap for Maria this year. This episode is filled with true gems of honesty and reality.
